Matthew Hansen (born 2000 in San Francisco, California, United States), better known by the stage name Matt Hansen, is an American singer-songwriter. Matt continued to write and record music, most recently writing the theme song for the short film 'The Unseen'. His latest single is called 'FIRST TIME' and was released in May 2025. Matt has credited artists such as John Mayer, Coldplay, Jeff Buckley, and Radiohead as being major influences on him. His style has often been described as melodic with elaborate guitar playing. He also incorporates aspects of folk and jazz into his music, adding a unique flavor to his music.

Early life
Matt was born in 1985 in California, USA, to Erin and Brian Hansen. He has two younger siblings, Avery and Charlie Hansen. He studied musicology at UCLA and graduated in 2023. He moved to Los Angeles.
Music
He grew up playing music since he was a child. He started playing drums and guitar as a teenager and eventually started playing other instruments such as bass, banjo, mandolin, harmonica, and more. After graduating from high school, he moved to Los Angeles and started playing music for various artists. He also started producing music for independent record labels. Matt got the biggest part of his fanbase by uploading covers on TikTok and Youtube. His earliest release on Spotify is 'without you with me', released in 2021. He has released earlier music, like 'Find Me', but they were deleted from streaming services. He has collaborations with Kygo, Arc North and Dawn's Lily.
Musical style

Tours
Matt has joined artists like Alec Benjamin, Lauv and Teddy Swims as a support act on their tours. His own first headlining tour was the 'Something To Remember Tour'. It was across North America and took place in 2024. His first world tour, the 'Versions of Forever Tour' started in Australia in November 2024. The Europe leg of the tour started in the Netherlands in February 2025 and officially ends July 2025 (including part 2 and festival season) with Stephen Dawes as a support act. The North America part kicked off in April and ends in May 2025 with Steinza as a support act. In the summer of 2025 he will also be joining Train as their support act in Europe. Matt's usual band exists out of Leo Bomeny (guitar & keys) and Lucas Bidran (drums).
